Useful without an account.

No consumer account is required. Your preferred Home location, a small offline weather cache, recent precipitation totals are stored on your device. You can remove them by clearing this site’s browser data. Approximate network location may be used on a first visit. Precise browser location is requested only after you choose “Use precise location,” and is sent to the application to calculate nearby weather results.

Government weather requests are made through the application. Server-side weather results may be reused for up to 24 hours, with coordinates rounded to four decimal places in the cache key. Older entries are not used and are periodically removed in bounded batches. This temporary cache reduces repeated requests; it is not used for behavioral advertising. Public requests use short-lived, one-way request counters to prevent automated abuse; they are not used to build a profile. The application does not maintain a permanent central history of the station-day totals reconstructed for you. We do not sell location data or build behavioral profiles.

We measure public page traffic using a random browser identifier stored on your device. Page counts, the website visited, viewed page paths (including a ZIP when it identifies the page), and visit times are stored to help the owner understand which pages are useful. This traffic tracking does not store your IP address, email address, precise coordinates, or arbitrary URL query text. Clearing browser data resets the identifier. Counts are approximate and are visible only in the private admin.

Venue discovery is initiated only by the administrator. Nearby public venue searches send a ZIP-area center, radius and facility categories to Photon’s map search service, with Private.coffee’s Overpass service as a fallback. These services may keep temporary service logs. Discovery does not send visitor location or contact information, and public venue visits do not make discovery requests. Search results are reused for seven days; older saved suggestions may be retained for up to 30 days and clearly labeled during a service outage. Every result requires review before publication.

If you submit a sponsorship inquiry, the business and contact information you provide is stored so the site owner can respond. It is not displayed publicly or used to build an advertising profile.
